Meet the currently adoptable Rest Assured  cats!
Leila (and Mishka)
At any given time, tabby Leila or her brother Mishka want to warm your lap and cuddle. Leila can sit on your lap or legs and let you brush her for as long as you are willing. But she also likes to nap, all balled up, with her brother, too!

18 years together and we are not about to separate Leila and Mishka now. These 2 would love a quiet forever home where they can be loved for the rest of their days. If you have a soft spot for seniors, this sibling pair is THE JACKPOT. They had senior bloodwork done in late August, and other than having old kidneys, they are in good health. (Older kidneys just means they drink a lot of water! Standard stuff for super seniors.)

Mishka (a  nd Leila)
At any given time, Mishka or his tabby sister Leila want to warm your lap and cuddle. But they also like to nap, all balled up, together!

Mishka will stare up at you with his huge eyes and through kitty telepathy, **will** you to let him sit on your lap. Yes, Mishka's pupils are big, because like many seniors both human and feline, his eyesight is not what it used to be. (Can you relate?) However, he has no issues seeing you or jumping on your lap or chair, and most importantly, he can see his litterbox!

Mishka and Leila would be perfectly fine with other gentle cats,  with a  proper slow intro. They even lived with a small calm dogs in the past!

  1. If you would like to meet one of our cats in person, please submit an adoption application. However, if you would like to find out more before applying, we are happy to give you more information about our charges, just ask! (An adoption application does not commit you to adopting, nor does it automatically mean you are able to adopt the cat.)
  2. You must be at least 21 to adopt with current photo ID and proof of address.
  3. If you are renting, please provide a copy of your lease that shows that you are permitted to have a pet and have paid the required deposit. If you own your home, we do verify home ownership.
  4. NVCRA will adopt to qualified out of state adopters, however, an adopter must have a veterinarian that we can call to verify pet history.
  5.  Cats can live to 20+ years. You must be willing to commit to caring for your cat, taking it to a vet annually, and seeking medical treatment as needed.
  6.  If you have another cat/dog, please learn about introducing a new cat to them. Even with the most friendly and calm cats, it can take about 2 months for both/all parties to be fully integrated and it is vital that you do not rush the processIf you have questions/concerns about the intro, please do not hesitate to ask us, we are happy to help.  A tried and true way to introduce cats: https://www.jacksongalaxy.com/blog/the-dos-and-donts-of-introducing-cats/
